WAKE, the new show from the makers of international smash-hit RIOT, is a howling, raucous, soul-stirring celebration of community, regeneration, and the magic of collective catharsis. 

WAKE lifts the veil between worlds, where club culture meets Irish tradition in an exquisite frenzy of ritual, rave, grief and joy. Conjuring up the spirits of the good times, of the marginalised, of everything that’s been and gone, WAKE toasts yesterday’s passing as we dream up tomorrow, together. THISISPOBABY’s glittering Irish Pop-WAKE embraces the ecstasy of letting go, the wild abandon of the all-nighter and the beauty of transformation in a rabble-rousing night of gut-punching theatre, soaring spoken word, stomping beats and outrageous circus that will leave us ready to dance into the dawn.

A love letter from a daughter to her mother, Recovery Town, is a poignant autobiographical account of growing up with an addicted parent. Brought to life through storytelling and standup, Recovery Town explores themes of loss, grief and forgiveness in a blazing display of hope and healing.

Recovery Town is an absurd small town in the depths of the West Countryside, a place where recovering addicts gravitate to attend one of the three recovery centres its home to.

Ella’s mum lives there. She’s just got sober, but not before making it into the town’s ‘crime pick of the week’ section in the extremely rural local rag. After a brief stint in prison, which Ella discovered via google, Ella’s mum had finally dried out. This show is a comprehensive account of her recovery bookended between two farewells.
